# Delete Your A-Lex Production / The Playlist Account
*This document is a starting draft — please review and adjust before publishing, and fill in the bracketed placeholders.*
You can request deletion of your A-Lex Production account and associated data at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed.
Option 1: Delete in the app
1. Open The Playlist app (or the A-Lex Production app, if you signed up as an artist or producer). 2. Go to Account. 3. Tap Delete Account. 4. Confirm when prompted.
Your account and data will be deleted immediately, subject to the retention notes below.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you no longer have the app installed, or prefer not to use it, email:
a.lex.productiom689@gmail.com
from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Delete my account." We will process your request within 3 business days
What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove:
- Your profile information (name, email, bio, images, social links)
- Your play history, likes, and favorites
- Your device/push notification tokens
- Your artist or producer profile, if applicable (uploaded songs, beats, and albums you own may be removed or unpublished — see note below if you're an artist/producer)
What We Retain, and Why
Some information is kept even after account deletion, because we're required to for legal, tax, or accounting purposes:
- Order and payment records — kept for 7 years to comply with financial recordkeeping and tax obligations. This data is retained in a form that is no longer linked to your active profile.
- Artist/producer earnings and payout history — kept for the same reason, for as long as required by applicable law.
We do not use retained data for any purpose beyond legal compliance after your account is deleted.
